Christofle, Unrushed

Some evenings aren't meant to end quickly.

A flame beneath silver. A glass warming slowly. The kind of night that asks nothing of you — except to stay.

This is not a set. It's a sequence. Each object earns its place when the other is already in hand.

Christofle Cognac , Brandy Warmer, Paris — 1980–1990

Christofle made this for a Paris that still believed in ceremony.

Silver-plated, 301 grams, a tealight at the centre — the engineering is simple. 11. 5x7. 5x11. 5cm The effect is not. Cognac warmed this way tastes different. Slower. More itself.

The handle is worn just enough to know it was used well.

One piece. Paris-marked. Not repeated.

The Ashtray

It doesn't announce itself.

Clear glass, restrained form — the kind of object that knows its role. It holds the cigar while you hold the glass. It waits while you don't.

Chosen not for its name. For what it does to the composition when it's there.

Some objects earn their place by staying quiet.
